The Lion & the Lighthouse (Lindau im Bodensee)

Built in 1856, this scenic harbor uniquely blends German engineering with a stunning, panoramic backdrop of the Austrian and Swiss Alps. Standing at 33 meters high, this is the southernmost lighthouse in Germany and the only one in land-locked Bavaria. Since the early 1990s, the lighthouse is fully automated; passing ships actually use radio signals to activate the light on demand
