Kloster Eberbach (Eltville am Rhein)

Description

Established in 1136 by St. Bernard of Clairvaux, it was one of the first Cistercian monasteries east of the river Rhine. The monastery gained international fame in 1986 as the main filming location for the movie adaptation of Umberto Eco's bestseller "The Name of the Rose".
