Kaffeehaus Riquet (Leipzig)

Description

With a history of importing coffee, tea, and spices since 1745, the estalblishment was also known for local delicacies. Today, it remains a prime spot to try the Leipziger Lerche (Leipzig Lark), a shortcrust pastry filled with almond paste and marzipan, which was originally created after the hunting of actual songbirds was banned in the 19th century.
