St Columba's Free Church of Scotland (Edinburgh)

Description

This bright red door belongs to this church built in the 1840s and sitting proudly on a prime spot facing the historic Royal Mile and Victoria Street in Edinburgh. On fun fact about St. Columba - while spreading Christianity in Scotland, St Columba is credited with the first documented encounter with the Loch Ness Monster, banishing the beast with his staff after it attacked a follower, a miracle that helped persuade the Picts of his God's power, say some accounts.
