Passage of Half-Arches (Jerusalem)

Description

In the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem's Old City, "half arches" typically refer to the distinct architectural supports found in narrow alleyways. These flying buttresses were designed to stabilize buildings against each other in response to the frequent earthquakes that historically impacted Jerusalem. They are also an architectural link to the Roman era of Jerusalem.
