Description

The convent boasts an intricate Plateresque façade and holds a special splace in history. Before his famous journey, Christopher Columbus visited the convent to convince university geographers and theologians of his plan to reach the Indies by sailing west. The convent was a major center for the School of Salamanca, which pioneered concepts of human rights and international law.
